Set up the rig, fix what is wrong, ask what is not here.
Set up the rig
The Mac is the rig; the rest is a network, an audio interface and a few cables. One guide for each part:
- The network — one router, the Mac and every iPad, iPhone and Apple TV on it, the rig name and passphrase, what the Band list's dots mean.
- The audio — the device, groups and tracks to outputs, the click to the drummer, the spoken guide, master volumes.
- MIDI — which devices control the app, teaching it a footswitch, MIDI actions and sync out, the Stream Deck.
- Timecode and sync — the three timecode modes for a lighting desk, LTC and MTC in and out, a DAW on the same Mac.
When something is wrong
- Troubleshooting — every finding of the show preflight (File ▸ Preflight…) and what to do about it, then the failures it cannot see: no iPads found, a late score, silence, a menu bar that came up empty.
- Questions and answers — price and the trial, the beta, what runs where, file formats, the license, updates.
- Contact — the form and the address, and what makes a message we can answer quickly.
The quickest way to report a problem is in the app: Help ▸ Send Feedback… opens a new mail to support@barbeatcue.live with your BarBeatCue and macOS versions, the audio device and its sample rate, the open song's plug-ins, the app's Diagnostics log and the latest crash report already attached. Nothing is sent until you press Send — read it, add what happened, remove anything you would rather not share.
Also
- Stream Deck — ready-made profiles for the Classic, Mini and XL.
- Changelog — what each build changed.
- Download — the current build, the requirements, the price.
Known limits of the beta
- The iPad display (BarBeatCue Satellite) is on TestFlight; ask at support@barbeatcue.live for an invitation.
- Audio Unit plug-ins run inside the app: a plug-in that crashes takes the app with it. After such a crash the app offers to start without plug-ins.
