Terms
The license for BarBeatCue · last updated 13 October 2026
These are the terms of the license for BarBeatCue, the Mac app, made by Ron Klein. The store that sells it, Moonbase, is the merchant: your purchase, its taxes and refunds are governed by the terms linked from the store's page, which apply alongside these. BarBeatCue Satellite and BarBeatCue Display (the iPad, iPhone and Apple TV apps) are free to use with a Mac that runs BarBeatCue.
What a license covers
- One license, two Macs: a studio Mac and a stage Mac. The license is for the person who bought it.
- A year of updates from the purchase is included. The version you have keeps working after that.
- Your files are yours. The setlists, songs, audio and scores you make stay on your own computers. BarBeatCue takes no copy of any of it.
The trial and the betas
- A beta build is free to run until version 1.0. It stops starting on the date the download page and the app name, and the next build opens the same shows.
- From 1.0 on, the app runs fully for 30 days from its first launch; after it, it needs a license to open its window. The trial counts on a clock that does not go back.
Activating
BarBeatCue ▸ License… opens the license window; Activate… there opens the store in your browser and the Mac takes the license; a Mac without internet activates offline with a device file. Deactivate frees the Mac for another. About once a day, when the Mac is online and the music is not playing, the app confirms the license; a paid license never stops a show for lack of a network.
Use
Do not copy or resell BarBeatCue, or remove its licensing. You are responsible for the audio, charts and scores you use with BarBeatCue, including having the rights to perform and copy them. BarBeatCue takes no copy of your content and makes no claim on it.
No warranty
BarBeatCue is made with care for the stage, and a beta is a beta: it is provided as it is, without a warranty of any kind. Keep a backup of your shows (the app keeps the last versions of every file in the show folder's Backups) and rehearse before the gig. To the extent the law allows, the maker is not liable for losses from its use.
